New ‘Thor 2′ Posters Have Malekith Going All ‘Phantom of the Opera,’ Plus More Thor and Jane

Need a closer look at the villain of 'The Dark World'? The new 'Thor 2' posters, one of which features Christopher Eccleston as Malekith, leader of the Dark Elves, offer just that.

In 'Thor: The Dark World,' the god of thunder (Chris Hemsworth) must battle this ancient race, with which the Asgardians did battle ages ago. Now they've returned to plunge the universe into darkness and have Thor's kingdom in their sights. Eccleston's Malekith is the face of this threat and the latest 'Thor 2' poster, looking all too much like the supervillain version of the Phantom of the Opera.

Coming quickly off the heels of this release is yet another (international) poster with Thor and Natalie Portman's Jane Foster in the forefront. Based on Marvel's marketing strategy, we're assuming these are the first of many character posters to come, and we're secretly hoping the next one will be of Malekith's right-hand man, the duel role of Algrim/Kurse played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
