DC’s ‘Young Justice’ Officially Coming Back for Season 3 … Officially!
DC has been through a myriad of animated series in recent years (paging Beware the Batman, anyone?), but few have resonated or been so missed as the two-season Young Justice. Well, fan miracles really do happen, as Warner Bros. has officially answered the call to deliver a third season.
Details are somewhat few and far between for the moment, but Warner Bros. and DC finally made official that Young Justice Season 3 has begun production, returning producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman (Star Wars Rebels) to their roles. Neither a premiere nor network partner (both seasons are currently available on Netflix, so they’re a good bet) have been confirmed.
In addition to the poster below, so reads a preliminary synopsis:
The Team is back and it’s “business as usual.” Warner Bros. Animation has begun production on a third season of all-new episodes of the acclaimed hit, action-animated series “Young Justice,” based on the characters from DC Entertainment. Season three promises new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.
The series debuted in 2010 with a core team of Robin, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, Aqualad, Superboy and Artemis, and expanded to feature numerous others like Beast Boy, Blue Beetle and Wonder Girl, alongside all the major heroes and villains of the DC universe. Voice cast has included everyone from Bruce Greenwood, to Danica McKellar, to Walking Dead star Khary Payton, to Tim Curry, Rob Lowe and Maggie Q.
Hard to say when additional details will flesh out (sign up for updates here), but will Young Justice Season 3 pick up with the Darkseid ending teased in Season 2? Where might the new series air?
