Now that American Horror Story: Cult finally cracked Season 7, the whole dam is about to burst. Creator Ryan Murphy reveals not only our heartland America setting, but returning favorites to the cast, and what Murphy calls Evan Peters’ “heaviest season yet.” Plus, watch a brand-new promo!

Murphy took a few Twitter questions after a Comic-Con 2017 event officially announced Cult as the Season 7 theme and title. In particular, the showrunner identified returning stars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters as “Ally” and “Kai,” noting of the latter “more Evan you will get. This is his heaviest season yet.”

The eleven-episode season will take place in Michigan, and feature several returning alum not yet glimpsed on set or reported. Franchise favorite Frances Conroy will have an undisclosed role, as will Coven, Freak Show and Hotel star Mare Winningham, and “others.”

Elsewhere of Season 7, Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd has also joined in a mysterious role, along with Lena Dunham, Allison Pill, Colton Haynes, comedian Billy Eichner and Popular alum Leslie Grossman. In addition to returning stars Cheyenne Jackson and Adina Porter, Season 7 might feature the return of several other characters from American Horror Story: Freak Show, while a separate upcoming season was said to bring together Murder House and Coven characters.
