American Horror Story always provides a yearly guessing game to determine its next cycle’s focus, while curious recent reports suggested internet horror meme “Slender Man” might take some of the spotlight in Season 6. Not so, unsurprisingly, though we might expect Season 6's true focus to feel otherwise familiar.

Following a prior Us Weekly report that suggested FX and Ryan Murphy had sought the rights to a script based on the “Slender Man” concept, both Entertainment Weekly and E! News have stepped up to refute the claim, noting that nothing official would be decided or announced until at least March. That said, E! News suggests that Season 6 will likely revisit an idea the franchise has dabbled in before, perhaps the Antichrist, if Vulture is to be believed.

At the very least, we know FX is working to re-secure Lady Gaga, who inexplicably won a Golden Globe for her Hotel role as “The Countess,” and has yet to address Ryan Murphy’s public invitation to return. Little else of the sixth season has been revealed, other than to expect the premiere in fall, and that the season would take place in two different time periods. Murphy recently also confirmed that he had a shocking part in mind for franchise veteran Angela Bassett.

Not that we really needed American Horror Story: Slender Man, though the series will likely drop further Season 6 details over the coming months. How about space, Ryan Murphy? How. About. Space.
