This past week at Comic-Con 2013, 'Arrow' season 2 revealed a number of new DC-influenced characters and stars to arrive in the forthcoming second season of the hit CW drama, while we've previously heard producers talk about inching toward several Batman-adjacent characters. Now that Batman has been thrust back in the spotlight for the purported Batman / 'Man of Steel' crossover however, does 'Arrow' no longer have its target in sight?

According to a report from Digital Spy on 'Arrow' executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim's interview from Comic-Con, Kreisberg's long-standing desire to introduce Nightwing and other Batman-associated into 'Arrow' mythology may have gone up in smoke. "We've heard the fans and we're very well aware that they would like to see Nightwing and various other Bat-characters on the show," said the two. "[But] that is a little bit out of our control, [and] I think [the 'Batman Vs. Superman'] announcement made it a lot more out of our control!"

Batman characters or no, ‘Arrow’ season 2 will pick up on Oct. 9 some time after the events of season 1 finale “Sacrifice,” continuing its ‘Batman Begins‘-influenced storytelling with the addition of new villains Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau), Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro) and Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White). Guest stars Colton Haynes (Roy Harper), Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) and Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson) have all been upgraded to series regulars for the second year in Starling City.

Well, what say you? Are you disappointed that 'Batman Vs. Superman' will most likely prevent any characters associated with the franchise from ever making it onto 'Arrow?' Who would you like to see the CW series go on to introduce? Watch the 'Arrow' season 2 sizzle reel below, and give us your thoughts in the comments!
