New ‘Boardwalk Empire’ Final Season Trailer: “Baby Girl, Jesus Was Wrong!”

'Boardwalk Empire''s fifth and final season has come in somewhat quietly in its brief trailers, but as the tagline tells us, no one goes quietly. Check out the final season's time jump in action with some new looks for our favorite characters, and our best preview yet of 'Boardwalk Empire's final season in a brand-new trailer!

"There's forgiveness for everyone," a young girl tells a grizzled-looking Chalky White (Michael K. Williams) in the newest spot for 'Boardwalk Empire' season 5. "That's what Jesus said." Responds Chalky ominously, "baby girl, Jesus was wrong!" Elsewhere, Nucky (Steve Buscemi) looks to be fending off assailants at every turn, while Margaret (Kelly MacDonald) keeps with her job at the bank and Gillian Darmody (Gretchen Mol) languishes in a psychiatric hospital after her arrest last season .

Elsewhere, we know that the final season of 'Boardwalk Empire' will premiere on September 7, the first of only eight episodes to close out the series. The story will jump forward into the 1931 era behind the Great Depression with Nucky making plans for life after prohibition. No major casting announcements for the final season have yet been revealed, though we've at least seen the haunting first teaser with Nucky in silhouette, amid shots of an abandoned boardwalk.
