HBO period gangster drama 'Boardwalk Empire' may not have stolen the show at this past Sunday's 2013 Emmy Awards, but that isn't stopping the premium cable channel from getting into bed with Nucky Thompson for another year. 'Boardwalk Empire' will officially return for a fifth season in 2014, announced just three episodes into season 4, but what can we expect from the fifth round?

For the moment, precious few details of 'Boardwalk Empire' season 5 have been made available by the cable giant, but we'll assume that Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) and whoever else survives the current season will return in fall 2014 for another 12-episode run. Though not quite stirring the conversation pot as much with its current run, 'Boardwalk Empire' continues to act as a source of prestige for the network, averaging 7.5 million viewers and airing its fourth episode of the new season, "All In," this coming Sunday, September 29.

'Boardwalk Empire' managed to garner a total of five Emmys this past Sunday, including a surprise Outstanding Supporting Actor win for season 3 guest star Bobby Canavale. The new season features guest stars Jeffrey C. Wright of 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' as educated Harlem leader Valentine Narcisse; Patricia Arquette as Tampa speakeasy owner Sally Wheet, ‘The Killing‘ star Eric Ladin as a young J. Edgar Hoover, ‘True Blood‘ star Brian Geraghty as Federal Agent Warren Knox, Ron Livingston as Roy Phillips, a business and romantic prospect of Gillian’s, and HBO vet Domenick Lombardozzi as Chicago mobster Ralph Capone, elder brother to Al Capone (Stephen Graham).

We'll keep up with the latest news on 'Boardwalk Empire' season 5, but for now, what say you? Are you excited to know Nucky will get back to boozing in 2014? Watch the latest preview of Sunday's "All In" below, and give us your reactions in the comments!
