As Captain America: Civil War gets ready to wrap production and Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 prepare to begin production in a few months, there hasn’t been much news on the next Thor movie. But, star Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) says that if you’re paying attention throughout Captain America: Civil War when it opens in theaters next year, you’ll get a very good idea what’s going to happen in Thor: Ragnarok.

The actress, who confirmed she’s returning for a “very pivotal role” in the upcoming movie, told The LA Times that even though Thor himself isn’t present for the events of Civil War, that film will set up the events back on Asgard.

Yeah, there’s a lot of great stuff they’ve peppered in [...] There's just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you’re really paying attention. [Marvel is] so good at interweaving everything throughout those films.

Alexander goes on to say that even she doesn’t know everything that’s going on (“Because they know I’ll be like, ‘So here's what's gonna happen!’”) as part of Marvel’s design to keep things secret.

As for Thor: Ragnarok, Kevin Feige has previously said that the film is “a very important movie for [Marvel] in Phase 3 [...] It picks up where we leave Thor in Avengers: Age of Ultron and impacts everything that comes after.” If the movie follows the comic storyline of Ragnarok it will be...very confusing, but it sort of means an apocalypse of sorts for Asgard.

In the comics, Thor discovers that the mold that made Mjolnir still exists and could be used to make weapons for evil. Guess who gets their hands on it: Loki. He creates an army and the subsequent war not only breaks Thor’s hammer, but destroys Asgard. Thor, seeking the wisdom of Odin, learns about Those Who Sit Above in Shadow and maybe, kinda dies. How much of that, if any, will be translated to the big screen remains to be seen.

Thor: Ragnarok is set to open in theaters on July 28, 2017.
