We like to have our fun at the internet’s expense when it comes to the Daredevil Twitter account, but at last social media has wrought real Season 2 news. Scott Glenn will return to Hell’s Kitchen as Matt Murdock’s old mentor Stick, but what might it mean for Daredevil Season 2?

Where the Daredevil Twitter account has a penchant for sharing stylized images of objects and events from the first season, the latest brought with it a stick of truth. In addition to the ice cream bracelet central to the dynamic between Matt and Stick, the tweet also confirmed that Leftovers star and all-around cinema icon Scott Glenn would reprise his role as the blind martial arts master in Season 2.

Glenn surprisingly appeared in only one of the thirteen Daredevil Season 1 installments, shedding a bit of light on his and Matt’s childhood meeting, while also thwarting a mysterious “Black Sky” weapon in modern Hell’s Kitchen. The episode cryptically closed on Stick reporting to a massive shirtless figure (believed to be Marvel character Stone), who asked if Matt would be “ready when the doors open.”

This time around, Stick will appear in three installments of Daredevil Season 2, and has “a new mission that Matt wants no part of.”

Elsewhere of Daredevil Season 2, we know for sure that Elodie Yung has been cast in the role of Elektra, following Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, as well that Rosario Dawson has been confirmed to reprise her role as Claire Temple. Additionally, past Jason Statham / Bullseye reports listed Marvel’s Mister Fear and Spider-Man villain Mysterio as potential villains for the season as well, though no confirmations have emerged. Drew Goddard remains aboard as a consultant, though the series has changed showrunners from Steven DeKnight to Marco Rodriguez and Doug Petrie.

Netflix’s Daredevil returns for Season 2 in 2016, but what might Scott Glenn’s return as Stick reveal about the potential plot?
