Warner Bros. and DC Comics will undoubtedly roll out a more elaborate reveal of its Arrow-Flash spinoff series in the weeks to come, but series star Victor Garber may have beaten them to the punch. Not only has Garber reportedly confirmed the still-untitled drama going straight to series, but also its placement in January 2016.

Speaking with BroadwayWorld in a wide-ranging interview, Garber offered what tidbits he could of the new series (overwhelmingly rumored as Legends of Tomorrow), specifically that they’d begin shooting later this year for a January debut. Garber certainly isn’t the last word on the series, but he also appeared to be under the impression his new show had gone straight-to-series.

I really honestly can’t tell you much about it except it is completely new and it will involve a lot of interesting people. […] We haven’t filmed any of it yet - but, it is going straight to series. We start filming in August and it will be on in January.

Thus far, we know the series to include Garber, Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh), Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Caity Lotz’s character, and time-traveler Rip Hunter (Doctor Who alum Arthur Darvill). Rumor has it that a 3-minute presentation video will debut with The CW’s Upfront event, which could be something we’ve already seen in set photos.

We doubt if Garber’s words will necessarily force The CW’s hand, but is the spinoff confirmed for a midseason 2016 debut? How many episodes might the overstuffed DC drama conjure in its first run?
