Game of Thrones Season 7 has already tightened story circles as much (if not more) than last year, and we often forget how close certain characters have come to interacting. So it is that new set photos reveal another hotly-anticipated pairing, one likely to be a bit tense by the long-ago battle of “Blackwater.”

You’re warned of all the usual Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers from here on out, but with Daenerys headed to Westeros, it stands to reason her “Hand” Tyrion might serve as emissary to some of the more familiar figures of the land, especially up North. So it is, that Watchers on the Wall points to a new Spain set video of Peter Dinklage interacting with Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), albeit believed to be on the shores of Dragonstone.

The two have never met on the series itself, but they certainly came close in Season 2's “Blackwater” battle, as it was Tyrion who devised the Wildfire defense that blew up most of Stannis’ fleet, including Davos’ own son. Both Davos and Tyrion have clearly switched sides since, but one wonders if Davos is willing to forgive his loss as a consequence of war.

Also worth noting, the report also claims that Joe Dempsie (Gendry) has officially been spotted on set (back at Dragonstone?!), but no visual evidence has surfaced as of yet.

Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 7, a list of directors for the year has been announced, along with rumors of some major set pieces and battles, while at least a portion of filming will take place in Iceland. Harry Potter star Jim Broadbent has been confirmed for a “significant” role, but sadly without Angela Lansbury, while several notable returns have likely been revealed.
