The moment Netflix confirmed that Gilmore Girls would return for a four-part Netflix revival, as well the subsequent announcements of returning cast, we knew one thing for sure: Rory, Dean, and all of Stars Hollow would all weigh their two cents in on Batman v. Superman! Right? Or … at least Dean and Jess would. Look, cross-promotion is weird.

We’ve seen a number of Warner Bros.’ TV branches weighing in on the clash of DC titans, mostly comic properties like The Flash, Gotham or even iZombie, and the studio put at least … some … appreciable effort into including the cast of Gilmore Girls. Technically, it’s our first look at Dean (Supernatural star Jared Padalecki) and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) back on set for the new Netflix episodes (h/t Collider), but they couldn’t grab any of the main cast?

Already in production, Gilmore Girls has confirmed to return Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Yanic Truesdale, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn, and Keiko Agena, though Melissa McCarthy has officially tapped out. Original producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino will once again be at the helm, having left the final year in a dispute with Warner Bros.

Netflix has yet to confirm either a title, or the four-part seasonal structure aligning each 90-minute episode, but what other Gilmore Girls favorites might return? Will they also have opinions on Batman v. Superman?
