Just over a year to the day after Guardians of the Galaxy had us all hooked on a feeling in theaters, Star-Lord and the crew are back with a brand-new beat. We’ve seen a few frames, but the first official Guardians animated series trailer brings a Galaxy’s worth of new action.

As debuted at Entertainment Weekly, our first full look at the new Guardians of the Galaxy series works overtime to align itself with the film, not only dusting off Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling,” but also arranging out first look at Nebula, the Milano in motion and more. Intriguingly new, however, is Drax’s armored look, Sakaarans, and an … army of Mini-Groots?

Premiering through August and September, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy features Will Friedle as Star-Lord, David Sobolov as Drax, Vanessa Marshall as Gamora, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot and Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, and James Arnold Taylor as both Yondu and Cosmo. So reads the full synopsis:

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy follows the newly-formed team who finds a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill. Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed which is capable of giving birth to the next universe. It’s up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic Seed in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power, from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki, in order to save the universe.
