Dismayed though we were to learn that 'The Daily Show' vet John Oliver had outgrown his position as correspondent (and brief host) to Jon Stewart, his HBO future looks brighter than ever. The premium cable network has officially set an April premiere for the newly-titled 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,' but when can fans see for themselves?

According to  HBO, Oliver's new late-night series will officially premiere on April 27, taking the 11:00 to 11:30 P.M. timeslot. Granted, that might seem a bit late for your average TV viewer, but it should nicely complement Sundays filled with 'Game of Thrones' season 4 digestion, without necessarily competing with either 'The Daily Show' or 'The Colbert Report.'

Few details were available of the series at the time of its November announcement, though HBO described the now-confirmed 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' to present "a satirical look at news, politics and current events." Oliver himself said of the initial news break "I’m incredibly excited to be joining HBO, especially as I presume this means I get free HBO now."

Well, what do you think? Will you devote your Sunday evenings to 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,' now that HBO has set an April 27 premiere. Bone up on the best of John Oliver from 'The Daily Show' below, and tell us if you'll watch the new HBO series!
