We still don’t know much about Jessica Jones or Luke Cage’s Season 2 premieres next year, but it looks like Iron Fist is gearing up for his own sophomore showing. Our first new addition to the series has arrived, as Star Trek and Black Mirror alum Alice Eve heads to Danny Rand’s orbit.

Variety confirmed our first new cast member for Iron Fist Season 2 (with the exception of Simone Missick’s Misty Knight), though no details of Eve’s role were provided with the announcement. Recent reports of Iron Fist Season 2 casting suggested freelance covert operative “Tanya Parker” might serve as a new villain, with some speculating her as the MCU equivalent of either “Lady Gorgon” or “Black Mamba.”

Here’s what Marvel said of the casting:

We are very excited to have an actress of Alice’s stature join the cast of ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist.’ Her exceptional talent brings an intrigue and danger to her character unlike anyone else.

Iron Fist Season 2 was reported to begin production in December, though the existing slate of Jessica Jones Season 2, Luke Cage Season 2 and Daredevil Season 3 leave it unclear when the series might premiere. We also know that Season 1 showrunner Scott Buck was replaced by Sleepy Hollow alum Raven Metzner, reportedly for a more grounded take on the material. Finn Jones will also reprise the character in Season 2 of Luke Cage.

Marvel will likely clarify the timeline of its Netflix premieres in the coming months, so stay tuned for more on Iron Fist Season 2 and beyond.
