‘The Leftovers’ Reveals Biblical End in Seven-Part Final Season Trailer
For a series that asks us to “let the mystery be,” The Leftovers sure doesn’t mind asking us to solve puzzles. So it is with the third and final season’s official trailer, broken up and scattered across the internet in seven parts. Come sleuth with us!
Our efforts are sure to end up invalidated by HBO releasing a full version later on today, but The Leftovers cast nonetheless gave us a final season trailer … in seven distinct pieces. UPDATE: The full trailer is above, with key art below:
Set for a Sunday, April 16 premiere, The Leftovers final season synopsis reads:
This season finds the Garvey and Murphy families coming together as they desperately grasp for a system of belief to help better explain that which defies explanation. The world is crackling with the energy of something big about to happen, a corresponding bookend to the Sudden Departure that sent them all spinning years earlier, bringing their journey Down Under.
The Leftovers Season 3 will take the spring slot vacated by Game of Thrones, with Birdman and Alice: Through the Looking Glass star Lindsay Duncan joining the cast in an unspecified role. Near of the entire Season 2 cast has been confirmed to return for the final year, while the series has also released its additional photos from the final season.
The Leftovers Season 3 may debut more straight-forward trailers in the coming weeks, but have a look at the prior tease below, while we wait for April.
