The theory of everything connecting Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ to the ‘Inhumans’ or Marvel’s larger cinematic universe goes back as far as the first season, but with the word “Kree” finally spoken aloud in last night’s “Ye Who Enter Here,” the powers that be may have begun confirming ‘Agents’ allusions to the 2018 film. Enter the latest ‘Inhumans’ comic cover, which seems to feature a very familiar-looking ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ alien writing!

Though not the first time we’ve seen the ‘Inhumans’ utilizing artwork that appropriates the ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ writing design, it seems a new 50th anniversary variant cover of ‘Uncanny Avengers’ #1 prominently incorporates a similar pattern weaved into the architecture of Black Bolt’s throne room. We still don’t know how far Marvel will allow ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ to go in exploring the notion of ‘Inhumans,’ considering the movie itself remains three years away, but those looking for confirmation may well have it.

Not to mention, the reveal that the ancient “writing” instilled by the blood of Coulson’s blue benefactor was actually a map to a “hidden” city has ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ almost certainly setting up Attilan, the ancient Kree-infused city Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ call home through various locations in history. Last night’s episode also saw Raina (Ruth Negga) cryptically teasing that Skye’s father (Kyle MacLachlan) could help unlock their “more than human” potential, but it remains to be seen if next week’s midseason finale “What They Become” will actually go so far as to say ‘Inhumans’ aloud, or actually explore the hidden city.
