Marvel’s Netflix ‘Daredevil’ Adds ‘Falling Skies’ Peter Shinkoda in Mystery Role
Marvel mas managed to keep Netflix's forthcoming 'Daredevil' TV series reasonably blind to public eye for a series that shoots in New York City, but despite the lack of formal presence at Comic-Con 2014, the Man Without Fear still has some news to offer. TNT 'Falling Skies' vet Peter Shinkoda has joined the series in a major and mysterious recurring role, but as whom, you ask?
Via Deadline, Marvel is keeping mum on Shinkoda's character beyond the name "Hachiro," which is more specific information than we got on Rosario Dawson's character, at least. For his part, Shinkoda maintained a regular presence in the first two seasons of TNT's 'Falling Skies,' before guesting in 'Hawaii Five-0' and landing a featured role in the recent 'Godzilla' reboot.
Shinkoda joins a cast that includes departed 'Boardwalk Empire' star Charlie Cox as blind superhero Matt Murdock, 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' star Elden Henson as best friend Foggy Nelson, Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin Wilson Fisk, and Dawson's unknown character.
Apart from taking place in the same cinematic universe as ‘The Avengers‘ and ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,’ we know that each Marvel Netflix series will shoot 13 episodes, culminating in an eight-episode team-up with ‘The Defenders’ miniseries and bringing the total to 60 episodes (to start). Drew Goddard was replaced as showrunner by 'Spartacus' vet Steven S. DeKnight, though Goddard remains a consultant, while Melissa Rosenberg has been attached to the ‘Jessica Jones’ series. That leaves ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘Luke Cage’ without any major names confirmed, for the moment.
Well, what do you think? Is Marvel's 'Daredevil' TV series shaping up by its latest addition? We might learn a few tidbits from Comic-Con 2014, but in the meantime, tell us what you want to see from the Man Without Fear when his new show debuts in 2015!
