[POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD]

In 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2,' our favorite webslinger will due battle against the Rhino and, the main villain of the film, Electro. However, Paul Giamatti (playing the former) recently revealed that he's only one of several villains lurking around, inciting once again the long-rumored involvement of the Sinister Six in this or any subsequent installment. But now this rumor seems like more than just a possibility as Jamie Foxx confirms this is an idea being thrown around.

Playing the electricity-wielding baddie in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2,' Foxx was on the road with his co-star Channing Tatum promoting 'White House Down' overseas, which was where he let slip this latest detail. In an interview with Total Film, he stated that, yes, "They actually talked about doing the Sinister Six, so fingers crossed."

Though this isn't a confirmation that it'll appear, the involvement of this supervillain group (made up of some of Spidey's most famous nemeses) was something even Giamatti suspected, saying recently to MTV, "I believe there's a lot of stage-setting for the next film. There are several villains in this movie, and some of them are more foreground and important ... A couple of us are more hanging around the background because I think there will be a bigger deal."

In addition, Chris Cooper, who plays Norman Osborn (the pre-Green Goblin) in the film, told Access Hollywood 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' "is an introduction to Norman Osborn, and, apparently, this leads to better things in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3.'”

As for the others, Colm Feore (rumored to play another famous comic villain) and Felicity Jones have yet to confirm their roles, and Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn) seems to have some secrets of his one, as we learned from the Comic-Con 2013 footage.

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' swings into theaters May 2, 2014.
