‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Will Launch Netflix’s First After-Show
After-show specials for today’s biggest TV are pretty old-hat by now, but it’s another matter when Netflix attempts one with its all-at-once binge model. As such, Stranger Things will go Beyond with Netflix’s first stab at a post-binge talk show, launching alongside the new season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix will launch all seven episodes of Beyond Stranger Things alongside the Season 2 release on October 27, though the series is intended to be watched after Stranger Things 2, rather than follow individual episodes. Community alum Jim Rash will host the talk series, which will “explore the inspiration for the series, tell behind-the-scenes stories and analyze every aspect of the second season, including answering all burning questions.”
Guests will include creators Ross and Matt Duffer, director Shawn Levy, and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Sean Astin, Linnea Berthelsen, Natalia Dyer, Brett Gelman, David Harbour, Randy Havens, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Dacre Montgomery, Paul Reiser, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink and Finn Wolfhard. Beyond Stranger Things is Netflix’s first after-show, but yet another media consumption experiment in the vein of Chelsea airing weekly episodes.
In the meantime, all episodes of Stranger Things 2 will be available to stream tomorrow, along with Beyond Stranger Things. Get caught up with our video in the meantime!
