Kurt Sutter’s ‘Bastard Executioner’ Shows Off the Swords in New Teasers
Kurt Sutter Sons of Anarchy followup The Bastard Executioner lifted the veil a bit at Comic-Con 2015, though short of its recent trailer, hasn’t allowed anything so extensive outside of San Diego. Now, the FX September premiere offers a stylish new look at its hero, but what do the latest Bastard Executioner teasers tell us?
Other than some moody red lighting and a penchant for swords, interested parties of The Bastard Executioner may need to look elsewhere for a taste of the series. At the very least, FX also released the full first trailer tease in high quality, which we’ve included below.
The Bastard Executioner follows “a warrior knight in King Edward III’s charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all.” Lee Jones will play the title role, with will True Blood star Stephen Moyer acting as his right hand man Milus, Katey Sagal appearing as “Annora of the Alders,” and even native Welshman and The Americans lead Matthew Rhys lands in a guest role.
The full Bastard Executioner cast list also offers an expansive preview of the new series, but in the meantime, you can check out all the bloodsport for yourself in the teaser trailers above and below, and stay tuned for the FX premiere sometime this coming September.
