'True Blood' season 5 has been in the ground for a few months now, leaving us with quite a terrific cliffhanger to salivate over, which only fuels our bloodlust for the coming season.  But with so many questions to answer for Sookie, Eric, "Billith" and the mysterious Warlow, who might be on-hand to provide answers?  Where last year Christopher Meloni joined the cast, this year we've been granted another imposing figure: 'Blade Runner's Rutger Hauer!  But who is his mysterious new character, and how long will he stick around for?

Even though we won't see the premiere of 'True Blood' season 6 until sometime next summer, the first casting announcement has spurted out rather deliciously.  TVLine reports that iconic star and former 'Blade Runner' villain Rutger Hauser has been added to the cast for no mere guest appearance, but rather a series regular role!

Reportedly, Hauer will take the role of "Macklyn," a mysterious and sinister figure with strong ties to both Sookie and Jason Stackhouse.  Given their focus last season, one has to assume Hauer's Macklyn has something to do with the mysterious "Warlow," the elusive vampire who apparently killed their parents, and whom deleted scenes revealed to be associated with Eric's vampire sister Nora.

No other details are available on the sixth season of HBO's fangbanging hit, though it's been established that 'True Blood' season 6 will be the first under writer Mark Hudis, following series creator and show-runner Alan Ball's departure.  The season will also take place over 10 episodes, down from the usual 12, largely to accomodate series star Anna Paquin's recent pregnancy with co-star Stephen Moyer.

Well, get to speculatin'!  Who do you think Rutger Hauer's mysterious Macklyn will be, and what does 'True Blood' season 6 have in store?
