Until about two hours ago, if you Googled “Avengers 4 release date” you’d have gotten a little window that said “MAY 3, 2019.” Technically if you Google it right now, you get the same info. But now that is totally out of date! Hurry up and get your act together Google! Millions of people depend on you to know when Avengers 4 is coming.

As revealed by the new Avengers trailer and poster that were just unveiled on an unsuspecting internet, Avengers: Endgame (we have a title!) is no longer arriving on our planet next May. Instead, the film will open one week earlier, on April 26, 2019.

Here is that poster, in case you missed it:

Marvel used a similar release strategy with Avengers: Infinity War. That movie was originally scheduled for the first weekend in May, and then shortly before the release, they announced it would instead debut the last weekend of April. It seemed to work out okay, since the movie wound up grossing over $2 billion worldwide. I mean, I guess that’s pretty decent for one film.

So remember to re-mark your calendars: April 26. Not May 3. If you show up to the theater on May 3 in your Iron Man costume everyone is going to laugh at you because they’ll have already seen Endgame like three times by that point.
