The 'Arrow'-verse was certainly abuzz this past weekend with news that 'Glee' star Grant Gustin would soon suit up as The Flash, but the CW superhero series still has a number of season 2 villains standing between here and there. Case in point, The CW has offered up its first look at 'The Dark Knight' star Michael Jai White's DC villain, Bronze Tiger, while a new "Year One" special will get viewers up to speed on the coming season.

Our first look at Bronze Tiger arrives via TVGuide, revealing beyond the brief glimpse of the previous trailer that White's character gets his name from a pair of Wolverine-like claws he sports in fighting. Sources say that Bronze Tiger will arrive in Starling City looking to see if the 'Arrow' vigilante can pose him a challenge, teaming with China White (Kelly Hu) and the Triads to flush him out. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim previewed the character's appearance, saying:

[Michael] is such a badass. His performance, our kick-ass stunt department, our incredibly talented costumer designer, and our very gifted props master...they've all combined their A-games to create a really great representation of this DC Comics character. If you're a fan of the character from the comics, you are going to really happy with his Arrow-fication.

Meanwhile, The CW will offer up a chance for 'Arrow' fans to relive the first season in an hourlong special cleverly titled 'Arrow: Year One' (like the Batman comics that inspired 'Batman Begins'), to air on October 2 with an exclusive sneak peek of the second season to follow.

In addition to incorporating references to Metamorpho and The Atom, ‘Arrow’ season 2 will pick up on October 9 some time after the events of season 1 finale “Sacrifice,” continuing its ‘Batman Begins’-influenced storytelling with the addition of new villains Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau), Amanda Waller (‘SpartacusCynthia Addai-Robinson), Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro), League of Assassins member Al-Owal (‘Homeland”s Navid Negahban) and DC character Sin (‘The Killing”s Bex Taylor Klaus). Guest stars Colton Haynes (Roy Harper), Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson) and Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) have also been upgraded to series regulars for the second year in Starling City.
