Marvel’s Agent Carter gave Peggy some Season 2 company in her trip to L.A., but is the sun already setting on the original Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s new life on the coast?  Check out Agent Carter (and Jarvis!)’s trip to Hollywoodland in the first poster of Season 2's 2016 premiere!

Entertainment Weekly brought Peggy and Jarvis out for our first look at the Season 2 poster, which already draws on L.A. iconography to bring us that famous sign (as it read in 1947, anyway), as well as spotlights, sleek rides and the famed Griffith Park Observatory. And while Jarvis (James D’Arcy) looks happy to reunite with his super-spy pal, showrunner Michele Fazekas previews that Jarvis won’t be so content out west:

We have a nice organic way to infuse Jarvis. That was always the challenge. He’s not an agent. The case for the first season is over, so the biggest question for us this season was: We love Peggy and Jarvis together, that’s a really important relationship, how do we keep them together? LA has provided us a really nice, organic way to do so.

[Peggy]‘s not working for Howard in this regard. The nice thing about Peggy this season is she’s not having to hide her agenda from the SSR. [Jarvis] is helping her out, just in a different way. He hates California. He hates palm trees. He does not stop wearing a wool suit.

Expanded to 10 episodes and likely to return in January 2016, so reads the full synopsis of Agent Carter’s next mission:

Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home – and perhaps even a new love – she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

In addition to the move, Hayley Atwell recently teased of Agent Carter Season 2 that we’d likely see more of Peggy’s lighter side, having let go of Steve Rogers in Season 1. Other reports also suggest that the Marvel-ous period drama will be casting an intelligent Hollywood starlet married to a powerful CEO, along with “charming oddball” Dr. Henry, a scientist who doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Agent Carter Season 2 will have more to say at Comic-Con 2015 next week, but take a look at poster above, and just imagine the charming irritation on display when Peggy and Jarvis investigate sunny Los Angeles next year.
