Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has plenty of enemies by its March 3 return, but we never expected one of the Sons of Anarchy to start beef. FX alum Drea de Matteo will go up against Coulson and his increasingly Inhuman teammates when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for its 2015 run, but might the new figure have surprising ties to Netflix’s Daredevil?

Per Entertainment Weekly, Sopranos star de Matteo will take the role of Karla Faye Gideon, a mysteriously-gifted woman who allies with Skye’s Inhuman papa Cal (Kyle MacLachlan) against the new ragtag S.H.I.E.L.D., owing to a prior grudge against the organization. The name “Karla Faye Gideon” holds at least some precedent in the comics as a supporting Daredevil character, though it remains to be seen what, if any relation the two shows might have.

Elsewhere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s return, we know that Battlestar Galactica vet Edward James Olmos will put in an appearance as the mysterious Robert Gonzales, a man who “will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team,” while Luke Mitchell will portray the Inhuman “Lincoln” and Blair Underwood guests as Melinda May’s ex-husband. In addition to teasing Jaimie Alexander‘s return as Lady Sif, the March 3 return of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will also begin to lay ground for Avengers: Age of Ultron in some capacity.

We’ve included the latest Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. return trailer below, but what daring new menace might Drea de Matteo bring against Coulson’s team in the March 3 premiere?
