Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will hit the ground running with its ‘Inhumans’ element in March 3 return “Aftershocks,” but the subsequent week will return to a more familiar corner of the MCU, with a fan-favorite at that. ‘Thor’ star Jaimie Alexander will put in a second appearance as the battling Lady Sif, only this time the Asgardian won’t quite be at her best.

Per TVInsider, Alexander will return in the as-yet-untitled March 10 installment of Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ this time popping up in Portugal with no armor and no apparent memory of the super-powered menace she’d arrived on Earth to stop. The team discovers Sif’s return after a “bodyslamming showdown with a foe whose superpowers are equal to her own” goes viral on social media.

Executive producer Jeffrey Bell previewed the character’s return, adding that what little Asgardian knowledge Sif retains will come in handy deciphering all the alien intel of late:

Sif has no idea who Thor is or that she serves a king, and we’re going to have fun with that. It’ll give us some much-needed humor in a season that’s been full of betrayal and death. Sif can’t even recall who she came here from Asgard to stop, but Agent Coulson [Clark Gregg] and his team will try to help her figure all that out.

…We’ve been dealing a lot with space aliens and Inhumans in our last few episodes—things our Earth-bound heroes just don’t know much about. They need help understanding what’s really going on. Sif’s memory—what’s left of it—will come in very handy.

Elsewhere of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’’s second season, we know that ‘Battlestar Galactica’ vet Edward James Olmos will put in an appearance as the mysterious Robert Gonzales, a man who “will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team,” but producers aren’t revealing anything else of the role just yet. In addition to Luke Mitchell’s role as the Inhuman “Lincoln” and Blair Underwood’s arrival as Melinda May’s ex-husband, the March 3 return of Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will also begin to lay ground for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultronin some capacity.

Sif’s return comes as no surprise, given the popularity of her first arrival with last year’s “Yes Men,” though both sides being in such vastly different states should prove interesting. ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will return on March 3, the “Aftershocks” trailer of which we’ve again included below. How might Lady Sif open up the Kree/Inhumans story any further?
