‘American Horror Story: Coven’ Releases New Teaser, Casting Details
It could be a while yet before FX's 'American Horror Story: Coven' releases much in the way of story or footage, judging by last year's 'Asylum' lockdown, but that hasn't stopped Ryan Murphy's horror-thriller from shilling out its weight in creepy teasers. The latest might send you falling down a "Staircase," plus, what big actor might score the role of male lead opposite Jessica Lange?
Like the previous teasers, it can be hard to gleam any real information from the latest 'American Horror Story: Coven' spot, outside of some supernatural levitation. On the other hand, it could be a commentary on the current state of agritourism, for obvious reasons.
Elsewhere, Murphy revealed to Deadline that casting continues on the horror-drama's third cycle, including Tony award-winning actress Christine Ebersole as a "Glenda the Good Witch-type of gal." Murphy has also been meeting with actors to take the "big male lead" role as the love interest for Jessica Lange's Fiona, to be introduced in the sixth episode.
Elsewhere, we know that the third season will divide between both present and 1830s New Orleans, and highlight a clash between witches and voodoo. ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ will also welcome newcomers Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone and Gabourey Sidibe, along with returning franchise regulars Jessica Lange, Denis O’Hare, Alexandra Breckinridge, Lily Rabe, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
More spooky teasers will surely arrive, so check out the "Staircase" spot for 'American Horror Story: Coven' above, and tell us what you want from season 3 in the comments!
