Kevin Smith ‘Flash’ Episode Gets a ‘Dinosaur’ Synopsis and a Surprise Return
We’ve known for months that sometime-revered, sometime-reviled filmmaker Kevin Smith would helm an outing of The Flash Season 2, and only weeks away from its end, we now know what to expect from the erstwhile Silent Bob. Not only will “The Runaway Dinosaur” bring us a still-shaken Flash, but an older, thought-dead foe from the series’ early days.
The CW released an official synopsis for the antepenultimate, Zack Stentz-written hour, airing on May 10 and apparently returning Greg Finley as Flash villain Girder, despite the character’s fairly conclusive end back in Season 1:
“THE RUNAWAY DINOSAUR”
KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS – With Barry (Grant Gustin) gone, the team must figure out a way to handle the return of an old enemy – Girder (guest star Greg Finley). Realizing Girder is retracing his steps from his last attack, Iris (Candice Patton) volunteers to act as bait to trap him in S.T.A.R. Labs. Meanwhile, Barry fights to return to his old life.
As Smith has previously confirmed, Jay and Silent Bob partner Jason Mewes will make not one, but two appearances within the hour itself, while it remains to be seen what brings back Finley’s Tony Woodward, given the character’s semi-heroic end last season.
In the meantime, The Flash will continue to explore the fallout of Barry’s big showdown with Zoom by Tuesday’s “Back to Normal,” saving an Arrow return and an ironclad revelation for its final two Season 2 episodes.
