Preview ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6’s Biggest Battle in New BTS Footage
Recent Game of Thrones Season 6 teasers haven’t revealed much beyond its cast’s famous faces, and in lieu of a full trailer a new behind-the-scenes preview may offer more. Take a look at some of the biggest battles yet in a new featurette from Game of Thrones’ hotly-anticipated return!
Ahead of its April 24 return (boy, is it going to be a while before we get that trailer), Game of Thrones shared a new featurette with some of Season 6's camera crew discussing the craft, sharing a bit of new footage in the process. Not only did we see huge numbers of Dothraki (as well as Jorah and Daario on the hunt for Daenerys) and a cryptic-looking Melisandre, but also what appeared to be landscapes for a major rumored battle site.
Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 6, soon to be renewed for Seasons 7 and 8, screen legend Max von Sydow has been cast as the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven to a returning Bran, while Deadwood alum Ian McShane will also appear in a limited, mysterious role, joining Richard E. Grant and The Babadook star Essie Davis as theatre troup players, four notable actors as the Tarly family, Melanie Liburd as a new Red Priestess, and Borgen star Pilou Asbæk as fan-favorite Euron Greyjoy. Apart from a list of directors, Of Monsters and Men will put in a cameo, and story logistics seemingly confirm scenes set at The Wall next year.
In the meantime, check out the latest on the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere with additional teasers below, and stay tuned for April 24!
