With 'Boardwalk Empire' having poured its last and 'Game of Thrones' not due for months, HBO and Lena Dunham's always-buzzing 'Girls' has at last begun promotion of its fourth season in 2015. In lieu of a full trailer, the latest preview for the January premiere goes behind the scenes to highlight the new conflicts and locations of the year, as well as the latest guest stars.

Are you ready for this? Here we go! As revealed of 'Girls' season 4 in the latest promo, Hannah has grown worried of jeopardizing her relationship with Adam by moving to the Iowa writers' workshop, something Elijah tags along with! Marnie continues a musically awkward relationship with Desi and his girlfriend, and Ray seems none too happy about it! Shoshanna has to deal with her parents, one of whom is 'SNL' alum Ana Gasteyer! Jessa has a run in with cops, or something!

Elsewhere, we know of ‘Girls’ season 4 that production will return to the 10-episode format over season 3′s elevation to 12, while series star Andrew Rannells will enter season 4 promoted to series regular, and Adam Driver will remain a regular despite his ‘Star Wars‘ casting. 'Community' star Gillian Jacobs will recur in a season 4 role, joining 'American Horror Story' and 'Heroes' veteran Zachary Quinto, as well as 'Orange is the New Black's Natasha Lyonne, Maude Apatow, Spike Jonze (acting) and 'Obvious Child' star Jake Lacey.

Additionally, ‘Parenthood‘ star Jason Ritter will play a small part, while Marin Ireland of ‘Homeland,’ young filmmaker Desiree Akhavan and actor Peter Mark Kendall have been given recurring roles as fellow students in the writing program. The new teaser also reveals comedian Marc Maron playing a small role, though we don't yet know as whom.

Feast on the awkwardness of 'Girls' season 4 in the latest behind-the-scenes preview above, and tell us what you want to see when the ladies return for new episodes in early 2015!
