HBO’s upcoming geopolitical comedy (come on, how often do you get to say that?) The Brink has already stirred up international trouble with its first teaser, but with a June 21 premiere fast approaching, the Jack Black-Tim Robbins venture has declared open season. Check out the longest look yet at The Brink with a new trailer and photo set!

Jay Roach-directed The Brink stars Black, Robbins, The Daily Show alum Aasif Mandvi, Orange is the New Black star Pablo Schreiber, Maribeth Monroe, Carla Gugino, Geoff Pierson, Esai Morales and Boardwalk Empire alum Eric Ladin. Penned by former Weeds writers and siblings Robert and Kim Benabib, the series’ synopsis reads thusly:

This epic dark comedy focuses on a geopolitical crisis and its effect on three disparate, desperate men: Secretary of State Walter Larson, lowly Foreign Service officer Alex Talbot and ace Navy fighter pilot Zeke Tilson, who must pull through the chaos around them to save the planet from World War Three.

In addition to Jay Roach directing the pilot, Robbins himself directed the second episode. We caught an early enough glance to say The Brink is definitely worth a look, but check out the latest trailer and photos above and below, and judge for yourself!
