‘Iron Fist’ Star Teases Costume Likely in Season 2 (If That Happens)
Marvel’s Netflix Iron Fist was beset by a number of challenges, not the least of which included the absence of Danny Rand’s classic costume. Star Finn Jones is optimistic we’ll see the look in Season 2, and even has a few ideas, should Iron Fist move forward with a second season.
Even as our next encounter with Danny Rand in The Defenders has also been confirmed to eschew the character’s comic attire, Finn Jones is keenly aware of fan interest in seeing a more familiar Iron Fist. Speaking to attendees of Comicpalooza 2017, Jones hinted at least some Season 2 ideas were being tossed around (h/t HHWLOD):
I hope so. I really hope so. I think moving forward to Season 2, we’ll see something like that … Personally, I really hope we get the wispy kind of ripples that come out at the back of the mask. I think that’s a super cool effect. I think it’d be really annoying, actually, the logistics of it but I think it would look really cool.
Jones was addressing the 1948 costume glimpsed in blurry footage, so it’s safe to assume an updated Iron Fist costume wouldn’t utilize the exact same look. And while Iron Fist hasn’t yet announced a formal second season (which might not arrive until 2019 anyway), we at least know Sacha Dhawan is expected to reprise his role as the villainous Davos.
We’ll see where The Defenders takes Jones’ Danny Rand, but what else might a potential Iron Fist Season 2 improve over the first?
