Arrow Season 4 managed to up its directing credentials with guest spots for names like Lexi Alexander and James Bamford, a trend that looks to continue into January’s Legends of Tomorrow as well. Bank on The Atom reaching some Innerspace, as veteran director Joe Dante will helm an episode of the new DC drama.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim first confirmed the news, tweeting out the script cover for Legends of Tomorrow’s eighth installment, “Night of the Hawk,” with shooting already in progress:

In addition to such iconic films as both Gremlins outings, Innerspace and The ‘Burbs, Dante has also trafficked in TV over recent years, including WGN’s Salem and CBS’ Hawaii Five-0. So reads the official Legends of Tomorrow description:

Set for 15 episodes (to start), thus far we know Legends of Tomorrow will include among its cast Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh), Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Caity Lotz, time-traveler Rip Hunter (Doctor Who alum Arthur Darvill), Valentina Vostok (Stephanie Corneliussen) and DC big bad Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).
