Marvel’s ‘Agent Carter’ Sneak Peek: Peggy Battles Tuberculosis and Spinsterhood
Marvel’s upcoming ‘Agent Carter’ TV series gave us a taste of Peggy’s action-packed exploits as far back as New York Comic-Con, but with the two-hour premiere less than a month away, ABC has released a brand-new clip of Cap’s best gal in her prime. Can ‘Agent Carter’ stave off deadly infections and movie dates, judging by the latest clip?
Accompanied by some unfamiliar music (might this be our first taste of the ‘Agent Carter’ score/theme music?), the first look at Marvel’s new spinoff series sees Peggy tending to her under-the-weather roommate Colleen (‘True Blood’’s Ashley Hinshaw), keeping her real job under lock and key. And while we know Peggy to still carry a torch for Steve Rogers, Colleen presses the difference between an independent woman, and a spinster.
So read’s ABC’s official description of ‘Agent Carter’'s two-part January 6 premiere, “Now is Not the End,” and “Bridge and Tunnel”:
In the episode “Now is Not the End,” Peggy is contacted by old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger“) when he is framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons and can trust no one else. To help Peggy clear Stark’s name, he insists his butler, Edwin Jarvis, be at her beck and call–whether she likes it or not. But the risk is great: If caught, Agent Carter could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison…or worse.
In the episode “Bridge and Tunnel,” Howard Stark’s deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter can recover it. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley and Agent Thompson?
“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham as Chief Roger Dooley.
