Watch the First Official ‘Stars Wars: The Mandalorian’ Trailer
It's finally here. The first official trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Disney+ series The Mandalorian has graced attendees' eyes at Friday's (Aug. 23) D23 Expo kickoff in California, and now you can see it for yourself.
The Mandalorian, the first-ever live-action Star Wars series, starts streaming Nov. 12 on Disney+. At April's Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago, the show was announced by writer/producer Jon Favreau and director/producer Dave Filoni, along with the stars of the series: actors Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and Carl Weathers. Watch the new trailer for The Mandalorian down toward the bottom of this post.
Earlier this year, Favreau said he’d been working on the project for a long time, and was particularly interested in exploring the period after Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi, when the Empire is defeated and "chaos" reigns throughout the Galaxy in the power vacuum they leave behind. At Star Wars Celebration this year, the group also showed off some footage and unveiled new photos from the show.
The excitement surrounding the series is certainly palpable. So much so, in fact, that work already began on Season 2 of The Mandalorian before this initial trailer was even released to the public. Enjoy:
And here's the show’s official synopsis:
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian will be available at the launch of Disney+ on November 12.
