‘The Leftovers’ Teases Crazy Final Season in New Series Recap Trailer
Whether or not The Leftovers is truly preparing for a worldwide flood, the end is certainly nigh for the Damon Lindelof rapture drama. You’ve just enough time to rewatch the first two seasons before the final episodes’ April premiere, as a new recap trailer recounts the story so far, and brings cryptic new footage of the end.
Following the recent teaser and announcement of an April 16 premiere, HBO releases a new recap spot of The Leftovers’ first two seasons. There’s new footage of the final run, of course, including more rain (or sprinklers, in Carrie Coon’s case), a good old-fashioned witch dunking, and sure, Kevin wearing all white .
So reads the final season synopsis:
This season finds the Garvey and Murphy families coming together as they desperately grasp for a system of belief to help better explain that which defies explanation. The world is crackling with the energy of something big about to happen, a corresponding bookend to the Sudden Departure that sent them all spinning years earlier, bringing their journey Down Under.
The Leftovers Season 3 will take the spring slot vacated by Game of Thrones, with Birdman and Alice: Through the Looking Glass star Lindsay Duncan joining the cast in an unspecified role. Near of the entire Season 2 cast has been confirmed to return for the final year, while the series has also released its additional photos from the final season.
The Leftovers Season 3 may debut more straight-forward trailers in the coming months, but have a look at the prior tease below, while we wait for April.
