It may not have the fanfare of its predecessor, but Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender is nonetheless back for Season 2 this very Friday, and looking pretty divided, at that. Our first clips from the new season sees the disparate team members exploring some strange new territory, including underwater worlds, and … a giant pile of garbage. Onward!

Ahead of Friday’s premiere, Netflix and Dreamworks TV released a bevy of new clips from the aftermath of Season 1's finale, in which the team was largely scattered to the cosmos. Up top, Pidge is having a bit of fun in a space junkyard of sorts, while below clips (the first via IGN) see both Hunk and Lance in an underwater battle. Finally, things start getting pretty weird for Princess Allura and Coran inside of a black hole:

So reads the Season 2 synopsis:

Working to bring the lions back together to form Voltron again, the Paladins’ plan to defeat the Galra once and for all takes them across the universe in search of new worlds and unexpected allies. Find out if their plot to take down Zarkon succeeds when Season 2 of DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender premieres on Netflix January 20, 2017.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Voltron: Legendary Defender re-imagines the classic animated property, and features among its cast Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time) as Lance, Bex Taylor-Klaus (Scream) as Pidge, Josh Keaton (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) as Shiro, Tyler Labine (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) as Hunk, Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) as Keith, Kimberly Brooks (Mass Effect) as Princess Allura and Rhys Darby (A Series of Unfortunate Events) as Coran
