Yesterday saw Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 2 unclassifying a few more photos from its September 23 premiere "Shadows," and while we've seen a few scant snippets of footage, are you ready for the first full clip? Find out who's investigating alien writing now, and what Marvel villain The Absorbing Man has to do with it in our first extended sneak peek from 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 2!

Initially available only on iTunes (boy, they're really pumping exclusives lately, no?), the newest look at September 23 premiere "Shadows" sees Skye and Agent Triplett investigating the alien (cough, Kree) writing that Coulson has taken to decorating walls with, before Agent Director Coulson himself tasks Skye with investigating a bulletproof assassin who looks remarkably like Carl "Crusher" Creel (Brian Patrick Wade). Plus, will we ever learn what's up with the Koenig "brothers" (Patton Oswalt)?

'Agent Carter' and her Howling Commandos not withstanding, here's how ABC describes September 23 premiere "Shadows":

Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources--but that's not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?

Guest starring are B.J. Britt as Agent Antoine Triplett, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter, Adrian Pasdar as Brigadier General Glenn Talbot, Henry Simmons as Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie, Patton Oswalt as Agent Billy Koenig, Lucy Lawless as Isabelle "Izzy" Hartley, Wilmer Calderon as Idaho, Reed Diamond as Daniel Whitehall, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Brian Patrick Wade as Carl Creel, Matthew Glave as Roger Browning, Simon Kassianides as Sunil Bakshi, George Stephanopoulos as self, Raquel Gardner as Carla Talbot, Ben Turner Nixon as Hydra Officer, Franco Vega as Military Leader, Rich Ceraulo as Soldier #1, and JB Tadena as Private Tilden.

Elsewhere of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 2, we know that Lucy Lawless will play veteran agent Isabelle HartleyNick Blood will play mercenary Lance Hunter and 'Dollhouse’ star / Whedon favorite Reed Diamond will take the role of Daniel Whitehall (Secret Wars’ Kraken) as a Hydra baddie. 'Twin Peaks' star Kyle MacLachlan will appear as Skye's apparently-gooey father, while Adrian Pasdar's Glenn Talbot and Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill have been confirmed for an eventual reappearance as well, and 'Friday Night Lights' star Adrianne Palicki will play Barbara Morse, better known as Marvel's "Mockingbird."
