‘Arrow’ Season 2 Premiere Photos: Oliver Returns to a “City of Heroes”!
Just yesterday we saw our first photographic look into ‘Arrow‘ season 2 with a brand-new still introducing Summer Glau‘s DC-inspired character Isabel Rochev, but why stop with just one? The CW has let loose the full set of flashy photos from the October 9 season 2 premiere, “City of Heroes,” with more Summer, shootouts galore, and a glimpse of what’s to come this season!
The official press announcement for season 2 premiere “City of Heroes” reveals that we’ll see Diggle and Felicity heading all the way to Lian Yu in search of Oliver, who left Starling City in his grief. Oliver returns to find Isabel Rochev preparing a hostile takeover of Queen Consolidated, while Roy Harper attempts to fill the void left by the Arrow’s absence, and flashbacks to the island show Slade, and Shado and Oliver in a desperate situation.
From the looks of the photo set below, negotiations with Isabel Rochev end up rudely interrupted by a deadly shootout with a new set of villains, but under whose authority? We can’t say. Elsewhere, Detective Lance has been busted down to beat cop for helping the vigilante last season, while Roy Harper manages to get himself in trouble whether with or without Oliver’s sister Thea.
In addition to introducing The Flash alongside references to Metamorpho and The Atom, ‘Arrow’ season 2 will pick up on October 9 some time after the events of the season 1 finale, continuing its ‘Batman Begins’-influenced storytelling with the addition of new villains Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White), Amanda Waller (‘Spartacus‘ Cynthia Addai-Robinson), Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro), League of Assassins member Al-Owal (‘Homeland”s Navid Negahban) and DC character Sin (‘The Killing”s Bex Taylor Klaus). Season 1 stars Colton Haynes (Roy Harper), Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson) and Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) have also been upgraded to series regulars this time around, as well.
We can’t wait for the ‘Arrow’ season 2 premiere either, so check out the full set of photos from “City of Heroes” above and below, and leave your predictions in the comments!
