Ken Leung Joins Marvel’s ABC ‘Inhumans’ as Karnak
We do hope you’ve not grown tired of Marvel’s ABC Inhumans after the rapid-fire castings of Medusa, Black Bolt and Maximus, as the Royal Family is only growing. LOST alum Ken Leung has found Karnak’s weak point, suiting up as the latest member of the ABC-IMAX drama.
Leung’s royal cousin Karnak is described as “Black Bolt’s most ardent supporter and strategist and is often seen as the royal family’s planner and philosopher.” The character is notable for his “ability to see the fault in all things – people, plans, structures, everything,” despite not actually undertaking the Terrigen Mist that bestows Inhuman powers. Says Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb:
Ken brings both a wisdom and a power to the role that no one else could match. His Karnak will be awesome.
Added showrunner Scott Buck:
Ken Leung has a great natural intelligence that reads clearly and will add depth and complexity to the very complicated character of Karnak.
Thus far of Marvel’s The Inhumans, we know that Iron Fist alum Scott Buck will showrun the series for Marvel and ABC, which have already set a September IMAX premiere for its first two episodes. Roel Reine has signed on to direct the first two episodes as casting continues (not for Vin Diesel, who isn’t keen on the TV bit), though has Marvel not clarified what, if any relationship The Inhumans will have to other MCU TV series.
We’ve still a few more Inhumans to cast, but does Ken Leung fit as Karnak?
