‘Arrow’ Season 3 Adds ‘Spartacus’ Vet Nick Tarabay as DC’s Captain Boomerang
Between Manu Bennett, Cynthia Addai-Robinson and Katrina Law, the CW's 'Arrow' has essentially cornered the market on 'Spartacus' guest stars. Get ready to throw yet another name on the pile, as Starz alum Nick E. Tarabay has joined the 'Arrow' season 3 'Flash' crossover as DC villain Captain Boomerang!
Entertainment Weekly reports that Tarabay will first appear in the seventh episode of 'Arrow' season 3, carrying into the episode 8 crossover of CW spinoff 'The Flash,' with whom the character is usually pitted against in DC comics. Presumably less gimmicky than his supervillain moniker would suggest, Tarabay's take on Captain Boomerang will arrive as Digger Harkness, a former A.R.G.U.S operative, highly skilled in martial arts and espionage, with a deadly thirst for vengeance against his former employers.
Most recently adding Matt Nable as DC baddie Ra's al Ghul, 'Arrow' season 3 has also recruited 'Superman Returns' star Brandon Routh in a major recurring role as tech magnate (and likely Felicity love interest) Ray Palmer, better known as DC's "The Atom." Not only that, but '22 Jump Street''s Peter Stormare will act as our new Vertigo, J.R. Ramirez will appear as DC superhero Wildcat, David Cubitt will play DC's Manhunter, Matt Ward will play Komodo, Amy Gumenick will portray DC's Cupid and 'Glee''s Nolan Funk will guest as Felicity's flashback boyfriend
Additionally, 'Real Steel’ star Karl Yune will play Oliver’s flashback Hong Kong handler alongside Rila Fukushima as DC's Katana, having replaced Devon Aoki. Departed series stars Caity Lotz and Colin Donnell will also return for early episodes this season, and we've also got our first full look at Colton Haynes' costume in his new vigilante persona of "Arsenal," in addition to the latest premiere photos from season 3 opener, "The Calm."
We're still holding out for 'Spartacus' alum Liam McIntyre to play Bruce Wayne somewhere down the line, but in the meantime, what say you? Does 'Arrow' season 3's latest addition have you boomeranging (sorry) with excitement for season 3? Watch the latest trailer below, and tell us what you want to see from the October 8 premiere!
