We’re less than a week from the premiere of Arrow Season 4, in which Oliver finally adopts the mantle of the “Green Arrow,” but all is not well in Star City just yet. The latest producers’ preview highlights the new #TeamArrow in place, as well as the deadly “Ghosts” that Damien Darhk and his backers have unleashed.

New co-showrunner Wendy Mericle previews the changes to Star City’s vigilante protectors in Oliver’s absence with Felicity, but despite Diggle, Black Canary and Speedy (excuse us, Red Arrow)’s team effort, the “Ghosts” operate relentlessly. We also get a taste of their leader, Damien Darhk, coming forward with his intentions for the city, while Felicity doesn’t seem too hesitant to leave a peaceful life behind to help.

So reads the October 7 Arrow premiere synopsis of “Green Arrow”:

MY NAME IS THE GREEN ARROW

Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) blissful getaway is cut short when Thea (Willa Holland) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) pay them a visit and tell Oliver they need his help back in Star City. The city has been attacked by “Ghosts,” assassins led by a dangerous man named Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough). However, when Oliver returns, Diggle (David Ramsey) makes it very clear that he doesn’t want Oliver on the team.

In addition to its Constantine crossover, we know of Arrow Season 4 that the fourth year is expected to somewhat creatively revamp the series after its Season 3 finale saw Oliver retiring the vigilante lifestyle. In addition to a focusing on DC villains H.I.V.E. and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Season 4 will also introduce Rutina Wesley, Parker Young, Jeri Ryan’s Jessica Danforth, J.R. Bourne’s Double Down, Echo Kellum’s Mr. Terrific, Alexander Calvert’s Anarky, and White Canary before her Legends of Tomorrow role.

Apart from Wendy Mericle’s elevation to co-showrunner alongside Marc Guggenheim, we also know that Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander will helm an episode, and both Oliver and Diggle will sport new looks.

Arrow Season 4 will premiere on October 7, but check out the trailers below, and stand by for the latest!
