It only took over two years, but Jessica Jones is finally coming back for Season 2. Marvel and Netflix have officially announced that our favorite Defender will take up her next case in early March, while a first trailer cryptically references … Spider-Man?

Netflix dropped the first trailer late Saturday, along with an official announcement that Jessica Jones Season 2 will arrive Thursday, March 8. In addition to the trailer above, a first synopsis teases “New York City private investigator Jessica Jones is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormentor, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.”

Apart from the bizarre Spider-Man reference at the end (so far as we know, no one in the MCU actually said that to Peter Parker), the new footage curiously omits a certain returning bad guy revealed just yesterday. At the very least, it looks like Jessica Jones is finally investigating the “IGH” that gave her powers, and even moving on from Luke.

Elsewhere of Jessica Jones Season 2, Damages and White Queen star Janet McTeer has been confirmed to join the Season 2 cast, along with Arrow alum J.R. Ramirez as Jessica’s new super. The 100 and Twilight alum Leah Gibson has also been cast as Ingrid, described as “street-wise but who also has an education as a nurse,” and may or may not be Daredevil villain Typhoid Mary.

We also know that showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has confirmed an all-female director lineup for the next 13 episodes, with True Blood and Supernatural writer Raelle Tucker replacing executive producer Liz Friedman. Rosenberg has also previously spoken to the possibility of featuring multiple villains, to fill the void left by Tennant’s Kilgrave.

In the meantime, all episodes of Jessica Jones are currently on Netflix, so stay tuned for the latest on Season 2’s March premiere.
