The same words that launched Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' over a year ago have also provided us with our best look yet into ABC's new superhero-adjacent pilot: Coulson lives! Phil is back and better than ever, cracking wise in the new Level 7 promo for Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' but is the card-collecting super-spy offering up any new details of his mysterious resurrection?

Sadly no, but we do learn that Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg)'s sense of humor certainly returned with the rest of him, as the new behind-the-scenes featurette from Entertainment Weekly sees Coulson making light of his dramatic entrances. Elsewhere, Clark Greg promises of the pilot that "It's something that I don’t feel like we've seen on TV. It's got the action, great characters, a sense of humor, there's something in it for everybody."

While we await the September 24 premiere, we know that Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ features a cast that includes Clark Gregg’s resurrected Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na as veteran agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as hacker Skye, and Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker as science team Gemma Simmons and Leo Fitz. ‘Ghost Whisperer’ vet David Conrad and ‘Luck‘ star Ian Hart have been added for recurring parts, though details remain light on their scientist roles.

Even Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jacksonpreviously stated that he expected to be involved with the show in some small capacity, and both Tom Hiddleston and Sam Rockwell are game to reprise their roles of Loki and Justin Hammer, by their own word.

Don't take our word for it though, listen to the man himself preview Marvel's 'Agents of SHIELD' in the promo video linked through the button below, and tell us in the comments what you want to see Agent Coulson investigate next!
