Marvel’s Luke Cage already looms over Harlem in the first Netflix poster, and our third Defender casts and even bigger shadow in the official trailer. After a Comic-Con sneak peek, watch Mike Colter take on Harlem as the hero-for-hire come to life! Did we mention the tiara?

As if sneak peeks from San Diego weren’t enough, Marvel’s Netflix Luke Cage released a first official trailer for the series, ahead of its September 30 premiere. The newest look fleshes out the supporting cast, as well teases the Harlem hero’s serious taste in music.

Says the official synopsis:

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Netflix’s Luke Cage will feature among its supporting cast Sons of Anarchy vet Theo Rossi as “Shades” Alvarez, alongside Mahershala Ali’s Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Alfre Woodard’s Mariah Dillard, Erik LaRay Harvey’s Diamondback, Frank Whaley’s Detective Rafael Scarfe and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight. Additionally, Rosario Dawson is confirmed to her reprise her role as Claire Temple for a more significant arc.

We’ll also likely meet Iron Fist toward the end of the season as well, but stay tuned for a full trailer breakdown, and more news of Luke Cage’s September 30 premiere!
