‘Game of Thrones’ S6 Gets Up-Close With White Walkers and a Wintery Tease in New Featurette
Game of Thrones Season 6 will feature plenty of major battles on the human side, but as the old saying goes, “Winter is definitely right around the corner, and maybe some scary-face guys too?” Or something. Any who, see said scary-face guys for yourself in new Season 6 featurette on Game of Thrones’ prosthetics, along with a tiny tease of where the Night’s King might strike next.
HBO released another in-depth teaser going behind the scenes of Game of Thrones, this time delving into the extensive make-up and prosthetics that bring the White Walkers to life, the very same who made a quick return in the Season 6 trailer. The Night’s King’s brief appearance with Bran seemed more-than-likely just a vision, though as Vanity Fair points out, certain shots seem to feature Wights and Walkers in the same root cave that housed the Three-Eyed Raven:
Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 6, soon to be renewed for Seasons 7 and 8, screen legend Max von Sydow has been cast as the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven to a returning Bran, while Deadwood alum Ian McShane will also appear in a limited, mysterious role, joining Richard E. Grant and The Babadook star Essie Davis as theatre troup players, four notable actors as the Tarly family, Melanie Liburd as a new Red Priestess, and Borgen star Pilou Asbæk as fan-favorite Euron Greyjoy. Apart from a list of directors, Of Monsters and Men will put in a cameo, and story logistics seemingly confirm scenes set at The Wall next year.
