The Wu-Tang Clan and its members had a big influence on Marvel’s Netflix Luke Cage, so you could bet Cage’s buddy would follow a similar path. Not only will Iron Fist feature RZA in both music and a directorial role, but star Finn Jones teases the possibility of what the Iron Fist costume might look like.

Where previously we’d seen an incomplete list of directors for the Netflix series’ thirteen episodes, Finn Jones himself revealed in a Facebook Q&A session with Extra that RZA directed the show’s sixth episode, “Immortal Emerges From Cave.” The tidbit came about when Jones expounded on the show’s musical influence, citing Wu-Tang, A Tribe Called Quest and Jurassic 5 among those compiled for a playlist he felt Danny would have listened to.

RZA has directing experience, particularly with martial arts, having coincidentally written and directed The Man With the Iron Fists.

The same session also saw Jones fielding questions about a potential costume for Iron Fist, given the closest we’ve seen was an unbuttoned green shirt designed to evoke the character’s classic look. Jones wouldn’t outright confirm any imminent costume (we’d guess they go the Daredevil Season 1 route), only offering:

I mean, who says there’s going to be a costume? This is a modern … I can’t say any more. Marvel are going to kill me. There may be a costume, there may not be. We’re looking at a suit that, you know …

Now set for a March 2017 premiere, so reads the Iron Fist synopsis:

Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

Iron Fist will reveal more soon, so stay tuned for the latest as it arrives.
